A Quick Guide to Wall Sawing

A Quick Guide to Wall Sawing

Wall sawing — it’s something that’s not as frequently discussed as it should be.

Wall sawing — it’s something that’s not as frequently discussed as it should be. In fact, when it comes to concrete cutting, being safe and effective is of the utmost importance. Here is a useful and helpful guide that can coincide with comprehensive training and manufacturers’ manuals for any equipment operation.

Practice Basic Safety Precautions

It‘s very important for everyone to always practice the necessary safety precautions to ensure the wall sawing is done safely and effectively. In fact, just wearing the proper protective gear can make all the difference. From safety glasses and safety footwear to a hard-hat and rubber boots, equipping yourself with the proper and necessary protective gear for your own safety. You will also want to avoid any openings and drop areas within your protective gear as it can be very harmful. Make sure to keep all electrical connections dry and also grounded to avoid the dangerous electrical shock that could result.

Proper Set-Up Procedures

Once you are all geared up and set, you’ll want to ensure that you properly set-up the necessary things you’ll need for your wall sawing. In fact, the first thing you’ll need to do is to set the anchors entirely and also ensure their proper depth. Then, you’ll want to secure the boots by mounting them square to cut the line and proper distance away. After they are tightly secured to the anchors, you will need to lay the track in the boots themselves. Then tighten them as tightly as possible to ensure it is utterly and completely secured. You’ll always want to use the proper amount of boots to the track as well — so keep that in mind the entire time. Place the radial arm on the rack and then install the blade and always make sure it is turning in the proper direction. Next, you can install the motor and blade guard. Finally, plug in all the necessary cords. Once all that is complete, you are ready to cut.

Bottom Line

Practicing proper safety protocols and procedures is integral to everyone’s safety — including your own. In fact, following each and every step to a tee makes the process of wall sawing safe and effective.
