We take pride in our ability to respond to the needs of the job site as they arise and meet our clients’ requirements within the agreed upon timeline.

G&M Services installers are certified with the industry’s major firestop product manufacturers. As part our firestop service, we are able to assess abnormal field conditions and, with the manufacturer’s technical support assistance, provide engineering judgments in a timely fashion to comply with contract specifications.

Our Field Mechanics undergo ongoing training, including mandatory monthly safety meetings, weekly Toolbox Talks where safety and equipment information is shared, and trainings on safe work standards and safety best practices.

Fireproofing vs. Firestopping

While the terms are sometimes used interchangeably, fireproofing and firestopping each play a distinct role in protecting commercial buildings during a fire.

Firestopping helps contain fire and smoke by sealing gaps, joints, and penetrations within fire-rated walls, floors, and ceilings. Its purpose is to slow the movement of flames, smoke, and toxic gases from one area of a structure to another.

Fireproofing, on the other hand, is applied to structural components such as steel beams and columns to help them withstand extreme temperatures. This added protection helps preserve the building’s structural integrity and delays potential collapse during a fire.

When used together, firestopping and fireproofing create a more effective passive fire protection system that enhances overall building safety.
