With decades of experience in the construction industry, safety has become a core part of our company culture, reflected in our consistent record of safe and reliable performance across a wide range of job sites. Keep reading to learn how our contractors prioritize safety on every project we complete.
Prioritizing Safety in Every Aspect in a Workspace
At G&M Services, all field employees are required to complete safety training as part of our new-hire onboarding process, and no worker is permitted on a jobsite without at least OSHA 10 certification. In addition, all Field Supervisors are required to hold OSHA 30 certification to ensure a higher level of safety oversight. We also have a full-time Safety Manager dedicated to monitoring compliance across every project and team member. To reinforce our safety-first culture, the Safety Manager conducts monthly training sessions and weekly safety meetings to keep employees informed on updated procedures, technologies, and best practices.
Silicia Awareness and Safety Training for Construction Sites
Silica is a naturally occurring crystalline substance found in common construction materials such as sand, stone, mortar, and concrete. According to OSHA guidelines, safe handling of silica requires proper training and strict safety protocols to protect workers from exposure. For professionals in core drilling and concrete cutting, silica dust presents serious long-term health risks, making it a top safety priority on every jobsite.
At G&M Services, all new field employees receive specialized training focused on the hazards of silica in construction environments. We implement engineering controls in accordance with OSHA “Table A” standards to help minimize and manage airborne dust during operations. In addition, we conduct annual respirator fit testing and health evaluations for our concrete operations team to ensure proper protective equipment is used and that employees remain safe and healthy throughout their employment.
